The Appalachian Symphony Orchestra starts the year off with fire, performing Stravinsky’s breathtakingly colorful “The Firebird Suite,” Marquez’s joyous “Conga del fuego nuevo,” and the world premiere of Hayes School of Music alumna Caroline Goforth’s “Springtime in the Mountains,” winner of the 2025 HSOM Composition Competition. The ASO will also be joined by HSOM violin professor Dr. Pedro Maia to perform Sarasate’s brilliantly fiery and virtuosic “Carmen Fantasy.”
