In this time when the storm has been hard on many in our region, the Hayes School of Music is grateful to be able to offer FREE ADMISSION to the Holiday Scholarship Concert as a gift to our community! This is made possible by an anonymous donor whose generous gift has helped the school to raise the amount we projected to collect for scholarships this year through further ticket sales. With this support, the Hayes School of Music can continue to offer our hoped-for scholarships and we can invite all to attend free of charge!
A FREE ticket is required. Reserve yours below! Please note that seating is now general admission (NOT reserved seating), so ticket holders who prefer specific seats or areas are encouraged to arrive early.
Live-stream: We will also be live-streaming the concert this year! Just during the time of the concert, it will be available to watch at music.appstate.edu/performances.

Donate to the Scholarship Fund
We gratefully continue to accept donations to the scholarship fund. Donations and ticket sales from the Holiday Scholarship Concert support Hayes School of Music students – and the more we raise, the more we can offer in scholarships.
About the Concert
For 32 years, the Holiday Scholarship Concert has been an annual tradition to usher in the holiday season in the High Country! This year, we are excited to welcome Dr. Tyler Young (Lecturer of Voice and Director of our Opera Workshop), and Dr. Dakota Corbliss (Assistant Professor of Horn/Brass Area Coordinator), who will lead as the Artistic Directors of the concert.
Almost every student in the Hayes School of Music is engaged in the concert through festive performances by many of our ensembles. This Holiday Scholarship Concert is planned to include performances by…
Steely Pan Steel Band | Appalachian Symphony Band |
University Singers | Harp Ensemble |
Jazz Combo | Bassoon Ensemble |
Treble Choir | Opera Workshop |
Brass Choir | Flute Choir |
